Sunny Saturday: Houston Goodness

We stayed in Houston this weekend and the weather was so beautiful!

It was a farmer's market kind of morning... :)

After a morning of shopping we came back home for a break and some lunch.

After lunch we stumbled across a yard sale or two and an estate sale.

It was such a good day!

Thank you Lord for time to relax, beautiful weather, for all your blessings, and for great fun together!

Speak Out

Twitter is a constant encouragement to us. We follow writers, pastors, friends, and organizations. There are many tweets weekly that really inspire us. Here is what is on our mind today.

@robbieseay: "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." -- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

We have a list of things that we feel that God put on our hearts, some of them being the hungry, the thirsty, the trafficked, and the orphans. We use this blog so that we will not become silent. What are some things that matter to you? How do you speak out?

Sunny Saturday: Austin and Rodeo

This Sunny Saturday was a bit gray but we didn't let that stop us!

We woke up early and loaded up the kids and hit the road!

 Our destination was Austin, Texas!

After a great day and some ice cream we headed back to San Antonio to drop off some really tired kids and headed to the Rodeo!

Great weekend!

Hope your's was just as pleasant!

Imagine Heaven

Twitter is a constant encouragement to us. We follow writers, pastors, friends, and organizations. There are many tweets weekly that really inspire us. Here is what is on our mind today.

@PastorChrisSeay: Heaven is not a place on earth, and never taking the time to imagine it would be a very sad thing.

Chris has been preaching on Heaven for the past few weeks, and what the Bible says we can expect. He has been emphasizing the fact that we are not people of Earth, but should look forward to our final destination. The church collectively created a play list of great songs that also help us think about what Heaven might be like. We put a few on the playlist below.

What do you think of when you think of Heaven? Have any songs that you would add to the list?

If you would like to hear any of the sermons on Heaven, the links from Ecclesia Houston are below.

DNow! & Prayer Request!

This weekend is DNow at Journey Fellowship! As mentioned earlier, Taylor is totally stoked to be leading a group of (8) 6th & 7th girls! And as a last minute opportunity, Frankie will also be leading a group of (6) 8th and 9th grade guys! A total of 52 students (6th - 12th grade) have signed up at JF! This is an outstanding number of participation and we are so excited for all the students!

The theme of the weekend will be "Thirsty" based on the scripture in Matthew 5:6: "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled." The Message translation is cool, too: "You're blessed when you've worked up a good appetite for God. He's food and drink in the best meal you'll ever eat."

As part of the retreat we will be talking to the kids about the importance of clean water and even help them with ideas to raise money to work toward building their own well through Living Water. This works out well because we just finished the process for the one we worked on for the past year! Taylor and I actually were asked to speak to the students about some of what we did and how the students can use their talents and lives to work for this vital cause.

So we are asking for prayers these next few days- prayers that God uses us all weekend long to share His message and to show these kids how they can live for Him, prayers that as we lead small group devos that the students hearts open up to hear God's truth for them, and prayers that strong relatioships will be made between students, with leaders, and with God!

Plus, the whole weekend kicks off with a Hawk Nelson and Clairmont concert!!! How fun!!!

We are so excited about the opportunities this weekend. We will pack and leave tonight and will be back on Sunday, hopefully with lots of photos and stories of great times and changed lives! :)

Optimus Prime Saves African Orphans

Twitter is a constant encouragement to us. We follow writers, pastors, friends, and organizations. There are at least many tweets weekly that really inspire us. Here is what is on our mind today. Here is what is on our mind today.

Superheroes are always saving the world, but from what? Batman vs Joker. Spiderman vs Venom. What if Superheroes really did save the world from things that are real issues? Things that we try to bring attention to here on our blog- hungry children, clean water, cures for diseases. Can you imagine Superman drilling wells in Africa? Or the kids from Captain Planet actually cleaning our world up? How great would that be?! @scottthepainter recently posted this image titled Optimus Prime Saves Africa Orphans. Now that would really be cool. I guess until these superheros show up we will have to take their places.

You can find this image here and even buy a print of it.

Mission Accomplished!

But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:57

It is officially official! Today, Frankie and I donated the whole amount of the monies raised to charity:water and sponsored a water project, only by the grace of God! We are so grateful that He put this on our hearts at the beginning of last year and that He touched others hearts to make it happen! Thank you to all our family and friends who joyfully participated! Today we have changed the world together!

charity:water also thanks you-

Water changes everything. Preventable waterborne diseases are drastically decreased. Long walks to muddy ponds and rivers are no longer necessary. Time spent collecting water is reduced, offering women a chance to earn an income, and children a chance at a better education.

Clean water offers improved health, a better quality of life, and hope for a better future.

100% of all donations will begin to be put to use for a clean water project in the name of Taylor & Frankie and Friends. We want to keep you updated throughout the process:

A water project takes 12-18 months to implement, complete and then report on. We are committed to sustainable water projects, which require planning and problem-solving; so before the physical construction of the water project, our partners need a considerable amount of time to effectively prepare and engage the community.

MONTH 1-3
• You make a donation.
• charity: water works with local
partners to choose the best
project technology and create
budgets for the project(s).
• charity: water grants to
partners at the end of the
quarter.

Way to go team! Way to go God! Stay tuned over time for updates and eventually GPS coordinates of the Taylor & Frankie and Friends Well!!!
