Disciple Now is coming to Journey Fellowship soon, and Taylor was asked a while ago to lead a group of 6-7th grade girls for a weekend in a host home. DNow is all new to me and I get pretty excited when I see Taylor and Taylor (Journey's Youth Minister) talking and e-mailing about it. I can only imagine the kind of impact this will make on these young hearts. Taylor is pretty excited too, since the theme is "Thirst". How cool that it fits right in with what we have been focusing on for the past year!
I have also been reading a little bit about it on another blog that we read. Kim, at celebrating everyday life, and her incredible family just hosted a group for DNow teenage boys. A bunch of teengage boys! lol! Hayden, one of her sons, was a leader of the weekend and this is a clip of some of the sermon he shared over the weekend. His passion is a great inspiration to us. I hope God can use us in the same way.

Sunny Saturdays and Menu Monday on Tardy Tuesday
Well our internet is still out at the house, and we are way behind on our posts... And life is BUSY right now- Taylor is about to make a weekend trip to San Antonio to go to Chosen with her Mom at Summit Church, and I am retaking the first two sections of the NCIDQ this Friday and then I am hiking out to Enchanted Rock with a friend for the weekend!
We will try to update photos of what we make, probably in the form of TwitPics. You can find our tweets and twitpics on our Twitter App on the side of our blog. And if your on Twitter, follow us and let us know so we can follow you. :)
Thank you Lord for your many blessings this weekend! Please guide us through our week and help us to show your love to everyone we meet!
Also, wanted to give a quick shout out to our friend Amy! We met her through CHF in SA and she has been so cool to follow on facebook and on her blog. She just helped out with a Habitat for Humanity home and posted all about it. :)
More updates.... my car broke, and was fixed, then broke again, and I fixed it again to get it to the shop and it is getting fixed for the last time (I hope). And we were blessed with another camera! The boss replaced his and gave me the old one- a touch screen Sony Cyber Shot (Score!) plus a new case and cord to go along with it! I also had a job site in San Antonio this past Friday so we had a jump start to our weekend and filled it to the max! Check out what we did on our Sunny (with a few showers) Saturday!
Thanks, Father-in-Law, for the fun outing! :D
This week's Menu Monday is pretty short. We planned on going camping last weekend so we bought food for that and didn't eat it so that what we are going to using this week. Just had to pick up a few things to supplement...
Bread
Eggs
Carrots
Tomato Sauce
Cheese
Bananas

Do Something!
We've been so encouraged by others who have decided to take the Food Pak Challenge, that have volunteered their time, who have donated Food Paks through CHF and the Oak Hills Food Pak Campaign, and also people who have decided to just do something, anything bigger than themselves.
There are so many different ways to give and different resources to give from. Find something in your budget that you don't need. Evaluate it against the needs of others.

- Frankie has had internet service on his phone for the past year. It's handy, but the monthly fee is enough to sponsor a child through World Vision. Internet bill or help a child and their family be healthy, sucessful, and learn about Jesus?? He's letting go of the internet.
- Mom figured last night that if they (2 adults, 1 teenager, and 2 children) skip eating out after church on Sundays, just Sundays, they could fill a Food Pak every week! Or, take that money to buy groceries and donate them to the Agape collection baskets at church! The simplicity of eating out could easily be replaced by a crock pot the night before for much less!
Even if your budget is already tight and you're skipping a lot of things just to get by, there are ways to give of yourself for free! Give of your time- volunteering is amazing! I can think of a few ways people would be blessed by your time: volunteer in children's and youth programs at your church, visit the elderly, spend time at a homeless shelter or a street ministry.
- Not only can you give of your time, you can give from what you already have. I love Agent J's blog about "making love an action verb". She posts about her experiences of showing love to others without spending money. Do you have some extra clothes or shoes in your closet? Take them to someone who really needs them!
There are so many ways to be a part of something bigger than you. That is why we started this blog. We wanted to share our experience as we journeyed through a Food Pak to help others who rely on them. Keep reading along as we find fun ways to give and continue with our adventures!!
